Office of Military Compensation and Financial Readiness

The Office of Military Compensation and Financial Readiness (MC&FR) provides support and resources for all personnel programs and policies related to military compensation and the financial readiness of Service members.  Specific functions of the MC&FR portfolio include the following: 

  • Policy analysis, determination, and oversight of military pay, allowances, benefits and taxation. 
  • Development and review of compensation-related legislation. 
  • Compensation and financial readiness oversight and coordination with external administration agencies. 
  • Oversight and execution of DoW Financial Readiness program including: 
    • Common Military Training (CMT) and Curriculum 
    • Strategic Communications 
    • Personal Financial Counselor Program 
    • Policy and Reports 
    • Learning Resource Library. 
  • Development and execution of Military Compensation Education Campaign (MCEC).

Offers comprehensive program and policy information for all military compensation and financial readiness matters including pay, allowances, benefits, retirement, survivor annuities, tax information, military consumer protection policies, and compensation-related calculators.  

DoW Financial Readiness Program  

Service and family members can connect with a wide variety of resources to help them achieve personal financial readiness, which is demonstrated by the successful management of personal financial responsibilities, in support of mission readiness and a Service member’s ability to perform their wartime duties. 

DoW Learning Resource Library 

Service providers and leaders can connect with common military training (CMT) curriculum and ancillary material used to support the DoW’s mission to provide financial literacy education to Service and family members as required by 10 U.S.C. § 992.
